Sonia PortraitWelcome to Mandarin Counseling

Are you tired of your life being out of control?  Is it time for a change?  Let me help you take charge of your life by  clearing out  those  negative thought patterns and behaviors that are no longer working to your advantage, and begin to make room for a healthier positive lifestyle.

During my years of practice in the Jacksonville area, the issues of adults over the age of 50 and their family members have been a focus.  The challenges they face can include anxiety, stress, anger, depression, grief, loss, loneliness, substance abuse and co-dependency.  Life transitions wear down the spirit, and become fertile ground for sadness and feelings of low self-esteem.

It is at this point that a helping hand is needed to bring self worth and a new perspective to one’s life.  Re-examination of one’s life experiences and strengths,   gaining a different perspective and confidence on where you are, and where your future is headed, can reinvigorate and redirect your life.

Additionally, I have expertise in couple’s relationships, premarital, married, separated, divorce.  The trauma that follows poor communication and an ultimate breakup is devastating and leads families to flounder and become paralyzed with grief and loss. Counseling helps family members regain their equilibrium and start a new chapter in their life.

Children ages 7-18 who are having difficulty adjusting to life need counseling to allow them to bounce ideas off their counselor, and allow education to occur in the safe harbor of the counselor’s four walls.

I believe that in order to heal, a safe, loving, and non-judgmental environment is needed to ensure a relationship in which therapy is non-threatening.  The journey of life often brings many surprises and challenges, in which the most important factor is how one is able to survive the storms.  My commitment is to help guide you from the rough waters of chaos to a safe harbor…intact, more insightful, and stronger for the effort.
